The Portrait Experience

From brief to final image — a process designed around you.

Every portrait session with Fushion Lens Limited follows a structured, thoughtful process — from an initial discovery conversation through to final image delivery. The aim is a relaxed, confident session that produces imagery you can genuinely use.

The Process

Six stages from enquiry to final delivery.

Each stage is designed to make the process clear, comfortable, and tailored to the brief. No guesswork — just a structured path from what you need to a polished set of final images.

Start with an Enquiry
Stage 01

Discovery

Every session begins with a discovery conversation — by email or enquiry form. This covers who the session is for, what the images need to achieve, how they'll be used, the desired style and tone, and any relevant timeline or format requirements.

This stage ensures the session is shaped around real needs rather than generic assumptions. Nothing is assumed without discussion.

Stage 02

Style & Session Planning

Once a booking is confirmed, session planning covers the look and feel of the imagery — including style references, lighting approach, outfit guidance, location or setup details, and session structure.

Clear, friendly session guidance is provided in advance so subjects arrive prepared, confident, and ready — not uncertain about what to expect.

Stage 03

Portrait Direction

On the day, clear, calm direction is given throughout the session. Most people are not comfortable being photographed naturally — that's normal. The role of direction is to guide expressions, posture, and positioning in a way that feels relaxed rather than posed.

Sessions are paced to give subjects time to settle in and find their natural rhythm in front of the camera. The result is portraits that look genuinely like the person — not a stiff version of them.

Stage 04

Photography Session

The photography session is conducted to the agreed brief — covering the session types, setups, styling, and contexts discussed during planning. Session length and scope are confirmed per booking.

All session logistics — location, timing, access, and any specific technical requirements — are confirmed in advance.

Stage 05

Selection & Finishing

After the session, a curated selection of images is made to agreed quantity. Each image is colour-graded to the agreed style and lightly retouched where appropriate.

The focus is on natural, polished results — not heavy manipulation. Retouching scope is agreed before the session and confirmed as part of the booking.

Stage 06

Delivery & Usage Formats

Final images are delivered in the agreed formats — which may include web-optimised JPEG files, high-resolution print files, social media crops (square, portrait, landscape), and any other specific format requirements discussed during booking.

Delivery method, timeline, and image usage rights are confirmed as part of the session brief. All delivery details are agreed before the session takes place.

What to Expect

Being photographed should feel comfortable — not awkward.

Most people find having their portrait taken uncomfortable. The session process is specifically designed to help with that.

Clear Briefing Before You Arrive

Everything is discussed and confirmed before the session — what to wear, what to bring, how the day will run, and what the images will look like. No surprises.

Direction Throughout the Session

You will be guided through the session clearly and calmly. Direction covers posture, expression, and positioning — removing the guesswork of what to do in front of a camera.

Paced at Your Comfort Level

Sessions are not rushed. Time is built in for subjects to settle in, try different expressions, and find the natural rhythm that produces the best images.

Images That Actually Look Like You

The aim is always a polished, accurate portrait — not a heavily manipulated version of you that looks nothing like the person your clients, colleagues, or connections will actually meet.

Planned for Your Intended Use

Whether for LinkedIn, a website, a press page, social media, or print — session planning ensures the images are composed and formatted for where they'll actually be used.

Confirmed Deliverables Before You Start

The number of final images, formats, retouching scope, and delivery timeline are all agreed before the session begins. No ambiguity after the day.

Image Delivery

Finished images delivered in the formats you need.

Image editing and retouching after portrait session

After every session, images are selected, colour-finished, and exported to the agreed formats. The possible delivery formats include:

  • Web-optimised JPEG for websites and email
  • High-resolution files for print use
  • Square format for Instagram and social profiles
  • Portrait and landscape crop variants
  • LinkedIn profile and banner formats
  • Transparent PNG where applicable and agreed
